Jaguar broke the mould of what an executive saloon should look like when it launched the original Jaguar XJ in 1968.  Long, low and lithe, it was effectively a four door E Type.

When it came to replacing the original car with the XJ40, Jaguar saw no reason to reinvent the wheel.  The new car was also long, low and lithe but with significant improvements to quality and comfort and a brand new range of brilliant engines.  

Our Jaguar XJ40 plugs the gap in our Jaguar range so that we now cover classic Jaguars from the 1960s, 1970s, 1990s and now the 1980s too.

Our car is a limited-run Gold model and one of the last XJ40s ever built.  It is fitted with Jaguar's brilliant 3.2 litre straight six engine and finished in maroon metallic with an upgraded biscuit leather interior - that also features that most Jaguar of Jaguar features, rear picnic trays.  It also has a large sunroof.
